Blue and Gold Blast

Last night was our annual Blue and Gold banquet to celebrate the birth of Cub Scouting in the USA. The potluck dinner was excellent, there was a lot of variety and great dishes!
Thank you to all the parents who made such delicious food! There was plenty go to around and not much left at the end (I know I ate my fair share).
After dinner Brother Scott led us in some great Scout songs and told the story of how Scouting was brought to America. Aren't we all so glad for that one boy who did his daily good turn! We also had some awards to pass out to the White boys for their hard work-way to go! The most awaited for event of the evening was seeing who won what for the cakes! And let me tell you, the show "Ace of Cakes" has nothing on what we had displayed last night! The boys were invited to make a cake with their Dad for the night using the theme of "cars." I will just say that ALL the cakes tasted awesome, they all looked great and it was hard to determine who should get what! Rumor has it that Hayden had around 6lbs. of frosting on his cake! So from Monster Cars to Tanks, there were some amazing cakes.
Thanks again to everyone who came and especially for all the help cleaning up! Looking forward to the Pine Wood Derby-which will be in three weeks!!!
