The first weekend the Scouts went out and placed flyers on the doors of quite a few neighborhoods.

The flyers told people about
Scouting for Food and the
SouperBowl program. Donations could be placed in bag on the door step for pick up the following weekend.

Here they are, getting ready to pass out flyers. The Scouts broke up in groups and went around two by two. Within just a couple hours they were able to cover entire neighborhoods.

Best part? Donuts!

The following weekend the Scouts went back out to the neighborhoods where they dropped off the flyers and picked up the food that was left out. Our unit collected
80 bags of food!

After all the food was collected, it was loaded onto trucks and delivered to local food banks. A big thank you to everyone who donated, and for the volunteer work of the Scouts!
The Council collected 213,000 pounds of food, and...
The Tall Timbers District contributed 21,000 pounds of that food.
